It is distinguished by the replacement of tin bronze by a copper-lead-tin alloy, by the increased use of metal (founders' hoards have broken tools and scrap), and by tools such as the leaf-shaped slashing sword with slotted hilt, socketed spearheads, horse bits, and socketed axes.
